This is a photo of the Ceres statue that sits atop the Chicago Board of Trade. Ceres is the Roman Goddess of Agriculture; she gave the gift of the harvest to those who cultivated the soil. We are all students, lifelong learners, who study each day, planting seeds to better ensure future success and bounty.
I find that teaching gives me energy. I learn
something from every one of my students and I share what I've learned
with them. There are simple methods and learning strategies that work
when understood and practiced daily. I do everything I can to foster
intellectual curiosity and exploration with each student.
I will customize a program to meet each student's needs. I use a collaborative / academic approach; we'll work together to accomplish specific goals. Over time, as I get to know the student, I am able to help them improve in areas of weakness, while further strengthening and building upon their individual talents. It takes time and patience, but the reward of knowledge gained is worth the effort put forth.
I work with students at the library closest to their home or school. I will work with small groups, if everyone is working toward the same goal. Call me to discuss your needs and to set an appointment.
